10" Herbie Nichols The prophetic vol.2 Blue Note RVG Lex DG rareHerbie Nichols ' The prophetic vol.2 ' BLUE NOTE BLP 5069 (USA) 10" or cm. 25 - flat edge issued in 1955 has the Lexington address and the deep groove on both label - has the 'ear' & the 'RVG' for Rudy Van Gelder engraved on dead wax both sides - very rare Herbie Nichols : piano - Al McKibbon : bass - Art Blakey : drums
Side 1 : Amoeba's dance - Crisp day - 2300 Skiddoo Side 2 : It didn't happen - Shuffle Montgomery - Brass rings All compositions by Herbie Nichols
Visual grading : record is EX- on side 1. Still with much lustre and some light marks but nothing deep or feelable. Side 2 is EX much lustre with a few light marks only. Labels are clean with just a few spindle marks on each side Playing grading : record is EX- plays well but has light background noise throughtout, all well below music's level and more audible in a few quieter parts Cover grading : cover is VG- to VG has trace of sticker's removal on bottom edge front and back. A few tiny tears on the opening right side. Very light general rubbing
