Description

This listing is for a collection of ten (10) 12" 78rpm Shellac Records from Columbia and Victor Labels of PAUL WHITEMAN and His Orchestra, featuring Bix Beiderbecke and Frankie Trumbauer among others.  All belonged to the late BILL CHALLIS.  If you collect Jazz or Bix you know who Bill Challis was.  If not, Google the name.  Bill kept his records clean and in the best possible condition.  I am not a collector so cannot grade these records, but they all play well.  The Victor records have surface noise as they usually do from the 1920's, but the Columbia are much quieter in that respect.  If there are any specifics on any of the records, I'll list them.  They come in his own album with some notes in his handwriting as well.  The 10 are:

  • MY MELANCHOLY BABY / THE MAN I LOVE - 50068-D, May 15, 1928. Bix solo obbligato to vocal on BABY and Trumbauer solo on LOVE. Light surface scratches both sides not affecting playing.
