Description
EMI Columbia Records 10 inch disc, stereo SBO 2751, first blue and silver label disc, pressed in England. Fully laminated jacket with scalloped flipbacks. Includes original EMI 10" poly-lined inner sleeve. Mozart, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, K. 525, and Handel, Concerto Grosso in A minor, op. 6, no. 4. Otto Klemperer conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra. One of only a handful of early stereo 10 inch discs issued by EMI on the Columbia label. Recorded in 1957, these are among Klemperer's earliest stereo recordings. The Handel was reissued on SAX 5252 (see my other listings for that record). This is the only early issue of the Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. The Eine Kleine Nachtmusik on SAX 5252 is a different recording, from 1966. I listened to the two records, and it is immediately obvious that they are different recordings.
