Description
You are bidding on two 12-inch microgroove radio transcription discs of THE MITCH MILLER SHOW, the daytime interview program as broadcast over CBS radio from Sardi's East restaurant in NYC.
Program #257, stamped as 2/12/61 by AFRTS (but probably broadcast earlier), approximately 30 minutes. James Thurber, one of the truly great American humorists, is a guest celebrating the return to Broadway of the Broadway musical "The Thurber Carnival" based on some of his pieces. Also appearing as guest is Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, the war hero whose newest book, a novel entitled "Tonya" was recently published. The third guest is Melville Cooper, distinguished British character actor, currently appearing in "My Fair Lady" on Broadway. A breezy, wonderful, daytime interview show from NYC. On the reverse of the disc is the 30 minute musical program of AT EASE, with Steve Lawrence and Major Hugh Curry conducting the the U.S. Army Band.

Miller conducts interviews with British actor, Martin Green, about the play "Drums under the Window"; broadcaster and actor William L. Shirer talks about his book, "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich"; and then legendary Broadway producer, David Merrick is interviewed On the reverse of the disc is the 30 minute musical program of AT EASE, with Steve Lawrence and Major Hugh Curry conducting the the U.S. Army Band.
The discs are in fine condition with very good to excellent sound.
