Description
Very interesting Orthacoustic Instantaneous Transcription recording of "Screen Directors Playhouse" , which were radio dramas adapted from motion pictures. This production features Douglas Fairbanks in a production of "Raffles", a comedy-mystery about a gentleman thief. Record appears to have been made or broadcast in September 1951. This is a one-off disc recording; it was cut on a recording lathe from a blank disc. It is not a pressing. The discs play well and the drama is very listenable, but there is a fair amount of surface noise on the disk. The discs were probably made by a radio station for time-shifting purposes and archiving. 1 hour length total on 2 discs. These are 16" (inch) transcription discs. They will not fit on a consumer turntable with a standard platter.
