Description

Two 16 inch transcription records, original lacquer lathe discs from radio station KGU in Hawaii. Production of Screen Directors Playhouse "Rogue's Regiment" broadcast on May 17, 1951. Starring Carol Dow and Dick Powell reprising his film role.  Playable on 16" transcription turntables or record players at 33 1/3 rpm. Sound reproduction is very good to excellent with surprising fidelity using 3 mil stylus. Approximately 15 minutes per side, 4 sides, with commercials and upcoming schedule announcements. The radio program broadcast adaptations of films, and original directors of the films were sometimes involved in the productions, although their participation was usually limited to introducing the radio adaptations, and a brief "curtain call" with the cast and host at the end of the program. Station KGU would record these broadcasts off their NBC network feed and rebroadcast the episodes at later dates, eliminating the longer commercial announcements and upcoming schedule descriptions.
