RARE "ZKT" Tax Code

(Professionally cleaned with Pro-Ject VCS Vacuum Record Cleaner)

This was the very first official release, being released on the 22nd of March 1963 (MONO version) and later on the 26th of April 1963 (STEREO version). The Lp reached number one in; Disc Weekly, Melody Maker,  New Musical Express and The Record Retailer in the UK. Only to be knocked off by their next album With The Beatles.

 Amazingly the songs, which were taken from their first two singles and included a further ten songs, were all recorded in one marathon session at Abbey Road Studios. John wasn't feeling too well and got through the 3 sessions in the one day by having milk, tea and Zubes lozenges....

Wonderfully heavy vinyl, with only very light marks to her.
I have just finished listening to all of her (LOUD) and found some light but only occasional background noise BUT also a superb rich deep bass reproduction.
NO JUMPS OR SKIPS
FLAT, HEAVY AND ORIGINAL!
GREAT SOUND TOO

Really rather rare "ZKT" tax code to side 1!
Unusual as the "ZT" tax code was only used from the 10th of April 1962 to the 26th of November 1962, where it was then replaced by the "PT" tax code, followed by the "MT" tax code, before finally turning into the well know "KT" tax code on the 1st of July 1963...So it is strange to have a mix of the ZT tax with the KT tax codes....

There's barely any central hole wear as seen in the pictures. The labels stand out nice and clean and would frame well. There is a tiny amount of tape residue to the side 1 label-I am sure this could be gently removed.
 Outer rim text starts with "The Parlophone Co.Ltd" "Recording First Published 1963" stated under the printed matrix number.
NO "Sold In UK..." statement...Showing it is the 5th pressing.

ORIGINAL poly-lined "Use Emitex"
Does have a split to one side.
Also has the rarer printed statement: "Patents Applied For"
Heavier, strong paper.
Certainly done her job in keeping the record in great condition!


Cover: VG+.
The cover is in a very strong and solid state. However, there is a name and address to the back, as well as some discoloration to the back card-as can be seen in the detailed images provided.
 The spine is wonderfully strong and still legible.
 NO SPLITS.
Barely any spidering to the front laminate and only very light rubbing to the corners.
Remains vibrant in colour and would frame well.
