This was the very first official release, being released on the 22nd of March 1963 (MONO version) and later on the 26th of April 1963 (STEREO version). The Lp reached number one in; Disc Weekly, Melody Maker,  New Musical Express and The Record Retailer in the UK. Only to be knocked off by their next album With The Beatles.

 Amazingly the songs, which were taken from their first two singles and included a further ten songs, were all recorded in one marathon session at Abbey Road Studios. John wasn't feeling too well and got throught the 3 sessions in the one day by having milk, tea and Zubes lozenges....

VG! Wonderful, heavy & shiny vinyl!
She only carries some light marks to her.
 I have just finished listening to all of her and found BARELY ANY background noise!!-really nothing to detract from the DEEP rich and clear bass, with an overall SUPERBLY CLEAR audio reproduction!
I found one tiny skip on track 3, side 1...I think this would play over with a slightly heavier stylus than mine..?

Labels: VG-. There some central hole wear, which looks to have been coloured in slightly-as can be seen in the detailed images provided, with some light spindle marks evident when angled towards the light.
Side 1 has residue from cellotape-but not terrible.
 Outer rim text starts with "The Parlophone Co.Ltd" "Recording First Published 1963" stated under the printed matrix number.
NO "Sold In UK..." statement...Showing it is the 5th pressing.

RARER 1st PRINTING & EJ DAY COVER TOO:
( These were produced at roughly a ration of 1:10, compared to the usual Garrod & Lofthouse covers)
 There is some wear to this cover, with very little spidering to the laminate, but two linear wrinkles.
The thicker HEAVYWEIGHT card cover has strong edges and corners, which have been rubbed and knocked. The flipbacks remain strong-with the bottom flipback being taped-please see in the images provided..
The EJ Day credit to the back, bottom right corner, is no longer there.
The spine is in great condition and is bright white with perfectly legible Please Please Me title.
Clean back card with very little age blooming.

 A genuine 1st printing Ernest J Day cover, with the Angus McBean in the extreme lower right corner on the front-in line with the end of the 'S'.

Has the rarer EJ Day cover.
She is a very GREAT SLAB OF VINYL for any collection-providing a clean and clear sound reproduction.
