Description

Victorian Crazy Quilt

This gorgeous Victorian era (dated 1885) crazy quilt was purchased at a New Hampshire estate auction. It measures 67" square and is made up of 9 large squares. Each of the large squares has a variety of shaped pieces, all embroidered together and many embellished with additional embroidery. There are a few pieces (some of the silk pieces) that have deteriorated, but it is largely in amazingly good condition. It has been recently backed with muslin and edged with black velvet. Makes a terrific wall hanging!
