In my opinion, the finest technician of the pioneer

cornetists, Walter B. Rogers is accompanied by the

Sousa Band and they play "The Harp That Once Thro'

Tara's Halls" on Victor Deluxe 31110.


Rogers starts off slow, but the final one-third of this vintage 12" single-sided

disc is nothing short of spectacular, splendid cornet

execution!


Rogers was a Sousa solist at the turn of the century,

and went on to the position of Music Director for

Victor for well over a decade.


Done on August 14, 1903, this great record is in V+

condition. There is a long fine crack which extends

from the label to about an inch or so from the edge.

The crack makes little or no noise.
