Description

An incredibly rare Persian recording from the Hampe 1906 recording expedition to Iran (then Persia), in Tehran they recorded hundreds of titles. These were the first ever recordings of traditional Persian music on their home soil. This recording features one of the Shah's own singers Gorban Khan accompanied by Mirza Mohamed Khan and traditional orchestra as he beautifully sings a Tasnif.

This is the kind of disc you'll only come across every 5-10 years, I've never seen one until this copy and another I will list soon.

Record has some age on it but looks otherwise V++, maybe even a low E-, and the sound is simply incredible in its volume and clarity!
