1922-1923 GENNETT PHYSICAL CULTURE RECORDS (FIRST EXERCISE RECORD?) SLEEVE ONLY

Another of the aspects of being a collector that I enjoyed were the original paper sleeves of old records.  The ornate early 78s, and then the colorful inner sleeves with all the photos of LPs.  With the old 78 sleeves, the artwork and lettering are art deco treasures...examples of typesetting and fonts and designs that are still beautiful, and excellent examples of graphic design and advertising art.
This listing is for a very unique and very old record sleeve.  It is from the early 1920s (probably 1922-23), from the Gennett Record Company, made by The Starr Piano Company.  They, evidently, are responsible for the "exercise record", which they marketed under the name "Gennett Physical Culture Records".
The graphics on the front are their usual "gothic" script logo with the three dancing girls at the bottom.  On the back, however, is a description of the exercise program on the record, along with a photo showing a matronly lady doing exercises in front of a huge old crank-up console phonograph from the period.
This could possibly be the ancient ancestor of "Jazzercise" :-)
It is in quite remarkable condition for its age...it is only a couple of years away from being 100 years old!  This sleeve has no real rips or tears to the thick, manila-like paper.  There is a very slight staining/splitting at the bottom center, but overall, the sleeve is quite solid.
