*** 1926 Blues ***
Rare Blues by Ardelle "Shelly" Bragg under the pseudonym of Mamie Blackburn. Tiny Parham is getting really low-down on Piano and an unknown guitar player can hardly be heard in the back on Canebreak Blues. These sides were released on Paramount and on this, the Herwin label of St. Louis a major midwestern distributor of Okeh and Paramount records.
Charlie Patton used parts of Bird Nest Blues for his own Bird Nest Bound, which he recorded for Paramount in 1930.

The first two tracks are the direct recordings as they sound on the record with all the scratches. After these are done we've uploaded these same tracks that we cleaned-up using a simple declicker. This way you can hear that the grooves are really not bad (and are really decent for use on a reissue of some sorts). Also note that a standard 78 needle was used to record this - using a specialized acoustic needle will likely improve sound.
