Description

1926 - 24 minute EDISON record selections 12032 and 12029.
Really very nice condition. Label looks good too. Very thick disc - see last photo.
1006-L Hotel Commodore Orchestra under the direction of Bernhard Levicow plays Gershwins' Clap Your Hands, and other fox trots.
on the other side
10006-R - more fox trots and then Ross Gorman and his orchestra play The Sphinx
The fragile Edison 24 and 40 minute Long Play records were decades ahead of their time. Recorded at 400 grooves per inch, far more than a modern LP record, they spun at 80RPM! Few of these records survive, because when the fragile diamond stylus broke, or skipped, the record payed the price, and this happened more often than expected, and these machines and records were pulled from production in 1927.
