Polish Soprano and conductor in Paris singing
Prix de Beauté ("Beauty Prize", UK title: Miss Europe) is a 1930 film directed by Augusto Genina. The film is notable for being the first sound film made by star Louise Brooks, although all of her dialogue and singing were dubbed. This film is an early example of sound film in France, along with L'Age d'Or and Under the Roofs of Paris.

Conductor at the Paris Opera from the mid-1920s to the German Occupation
Lucienne, typist and gorgeous bathing beauty, decides to enter the 'Miss Europe' pageant sponsored by the French newspaper she works for. She finds her jealous lover Andre violently disapproves of such events and tries to withdraw, but it's too late; she's even then being named Miss France. The night Andre planned to propose to her, she's being whisked off to the Miss Europe finals in Spain, where admirers swarm around her. Win or lose, what will the harvest be?
Maria Alexandrowicz (born 1894 (?) In Warsaw) - Polish singer, soprano .
The singer was discovered by the Polish tenor Jan Reszke (who from then on supported her career development). Then she was educated in Paris, where in 1913 she made her debut as Gilda in the opera Rigoletto . In France, she also performed most often on stage: especially at the Paris Opera , as well as guest appearances at the Monte Carlo Opera and Opéra-Comique , and from the 1930s mainly in French provincial theaters.
Initially, she performed mainly coloratura soprano parts, later rather lyrical and dramatic parts. One of her first stage performances was the re -release of Les Fêtes d'Hébé by Jean-Philippe Rameau (Monte Carlo 1914). Among the roles in the Paris Opera, we can note Queen Margaret in Giacom Meyerbeer 's Huguenots (1913), Ophelia in Hamlet by Ambroise Thomas (1919) and the title role in Thaïs by Jules Massenet (1922). In Opéra-Comique she appeared as Tosca (1923).
