Super cool historic piece. The original American Idol!
The "Metropolitan Opera Auditions of the Air" was a radio program that aired live auditions of aspiring opera singers from various locations, but the main broadcasts were often centered around the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. The program began in the early 1930s and aimed to discover and promote new vocal talent. Contestants would perform live on the air, and winners often received opportunities to join the ranks of professional opera singers at the Metropolitan Opera, along with other prizes and career-boosting opportunities.

4. **Rose Suzanne der Derian**: Rose Suzanne Der Derian was indeed a famous soprano. She had a notable career in the opera world.
6. **Gertrude Ribla**: Gertrude Ribla was a noted soprano. She performed with various opera companies and had a successful career.
