Wonderful Blues sides by St. Louis gal Mary Johnson (here as Signifying Mary Johnson).
Mary had previously (from 1929 on) recorded some top sides with the great Barrelhouse piano master Henry Brown and his  sidekick-buddy Ike Rodgers on Trombone (both also from St. Louis). But also waxed sides with pianist Judson Brown backed by guitar master Tampa Red and the great pianist Roosevelt Sykes.
On these "the last of her pre-war recorded sides" Mary's backed by an unknown pianist and most likely guitarist Kokomo Arnold  on Delmar Avenue, and probably good old Peetie Wheatstraw taking up piano duties instead of his usual guitar work on I Just Can't Take It.
