1940s Drop Front Oak Record Cabinet

with automatic disk presentation mechanism

This unusual record cabinet will house 50 x 78 rpm disks. As the door is opened the records are partially pulled forward in their individual sleeves for easy removal. (The disks in the photo are for illustration only and are not part of the sale.) The top provides a good surface for a wind-up gramophone.

The mechanism operates flawlessly and the cabinet's condition is generally sound. There are superficial scratches in the varnish on the top and one slightly deeper scratch about a centimetre long. (Note that the mark that appears at the top of the door panel in the first picture is a blemish on the photo.)  A very slight bow is perceivable in two of the legs and the top is loose but with a little attention and tlc it will restore beautifully.
