Description
Unusual, one-sided, 12-inch transcription "Orthacoustic" disc featuring one brief comedy/drama routine by Harold Peary as The Great Gildersleeve that was to have been broadcast as part of New Year's 1943 radio programming.
I believe this was part of series of discs featuring NBC radio stars for use by local NBC radio stations as part of their New Year's Eve/New Year's Day programming.
On this disc, Gildersleeve talks about the importance of rationing during World War II.
NOTE: This is NOT an entire radio program, but a short one-person "sketch" by Gildersleeve. Side 2 on this disc is blank but has the lovely RCA Victor embossed label background.
Disk is in good condition with some minor scuffs and light scratches, but plays clearly. Surface of disk is shiny.
