Description

"Orchestras Of The Nation" radio show transcription discs produced by The Armed Forces Radio Service.  One complete 60 minute radio program on these three 16 inch, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm discs.  These discs were issued to radio stations for broadcast only and not available to the general public, very rare!

"Orchestras Of The Nation" radio program #1 featuring the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from Orchestra Hall in Chicago from April 14, 1945.  The orchestra is conducted by Desire Defauw

Music includes:

1. "Symphony #1 Opus 10" Dimitri Shostikovich

2. "2nd Movement Of The Eroica Symphony" Ludwig Van Beethoven

3. "Andante From The Sonata For Solo Violin In A Minor Arranged For String Orchestra" Johann Sebastian Bach

I could not find any reference to any existing copy of this radio broadcast in any online radio log or database

Discs are in Excellent- condition with Excellent- sound, beautiful discs from a collection that has sat untouched for decades

Please note that most standard turntables with not play 16 inch radio transcriptions.  For $10 I can make a CD of all three discs for the buyer only
