"Metropolitan Opera Presents" radio show transcription disc produced by The Armed Forces Radio Service. One complete 30 minute radio program on this 16 inch, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm disc. This disc was issued to radio stations for broadcast only and not available to the general public, very rare
"Metropolitan Opera Presents" radio program from February 18, 1946 hosted by Milton Cross with guest Marjorie Lawrence, soprano from The Metrpropolitan Opera.
Marjorie Lawrence sings "Dido's Lament (When I Am Laid In Earth)", "Loch Lommond", "Il Est Doux Il Est Bon", "I Love Thee" & an unidentified song
The program gives a brief re-enactment of singer Marjorie Lawrence travelling to her home country of Australia to perform for wounded troops
There is a portion of the program which basically is an audition for The Metropolitan Opera for an aspiring young artist, in this program, A. E. Wilder Jr, from Hammond, Louisiana, an instructor from Southeast Louisiana University, sings an unidentified song from Faust
Program was meant to be broadcast to servicemen overseas, Excellent World War Two Era nostalgic broadcast! Program is complete and 30 minutes
