   This is a rare find! These are original presto vinyl ve day program discs for the victory europe day dated a week before it actually happened, and also marked not to be broadcast!
  THIS LISTING INCLUDES THE ORIGINAL SHIPPING BOX AND THE 3 pronto VINYL LP DISCS. INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH, THE 3 RECORDS ARE MARKED: ""V-E DAY PROGRAM - NOT FOR BROADCAST"" AND THEY ARE dated ONE WEEK BEFORE VE DAY. THE ACTUAL VE DAY WAS 5-8-1945 AND THESE DISCS ARE MARKED 5-1-1945. ALL 3 DISCS ARE DATED WITH THIS SAME DATE.    The original package box was sent from the Navy department to Mr.  w.O.Simon at the Du Pont corp in washington dc, containing 3 large Presto discs they measure 16" across.  The package has a "RUSh, broadcast news' stamped on the outside!      Doing a quick google search, Mr w.o.simon was a manhattan project staff. The fact that the discs are marked "ve day program, not to be broadcast" speaks for itself as they were probably classified info at the time as the ve day event hasn't occured yet and obviously not ready yet for the official big day!      The discs are in excellent overall condition very straight, with minimal handling or marks, no cracks, no splits. They have recording grooves on one side only, the other side is completely flat. Beautiful looking records!      all 3 labels have pencil marks and writing on them. One says "ok no good" , another says it hangs up in places, the other says "ok it start ....cant understand what being said?".....(see pictures for all the writing!     I am not set up and do not have the equipment to listen to them so i do not know what is on them, i do not know if they are the same or different recordings.
