DESCRIPTION... This unique and rare 4 record set (Recorded for 8th Army Exchange) with book measures 10 1/2" tall, 11 1/2" wide, and 1/2" inches thick with the records in it. The book is blue/black with a mottled design on the cover, with 4 brown sleeves inside to hold the records. The records are labeled

(see photos) No chips, no cracks, no scratches, no gouges, no damage to the records. The book is in excellent condition with no major rips, or tears, with binder secure and intact. (NOTE! wear seen on corner edges of book, with minor nicks and separation on edge of covers). In excellent condition for its age. Other than edges and nicks mentioned It is like it left the factory 60 years ago. All record labels are marked CPO, EAGLE, MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN. (see photo) Wonderful addition for any collection.

History of Occupied Japan Collectibles:
One half of all items produced in Japan after World War II from late 1945 until early 1952 for export to the U.S. and elsewhere in the world, were required by law to be marked with the words “Occupied Japan”, or “Made in Occupied Japan” in some form. This law was introduced by General Douglas MacArthur as a way to help the American people and other Countries accept and purchase imports from the spurned and defeated nation of Japan. This would allow the Japanese people to gain a grip on their economic recovery. Other than the distinct hallmark, there is little proof to authenticate an item from the period. These items are dated by their hallmark, limited in quantity, and will never be produced again. © 2008
