Description
1950s MICHELIN Advertising flexidiscs. Circa 1958
Two 1960s MICHELIN Advertising flexidiscs.
Flexidisc number one-
One side of the disc tells you about the indescribable wonder of Michelin 'X' tyres; the other says it with music. The inner sleeve (it's a four page booklet) has a beautiful graphic telling you precisely why Michelin 'X' tyres are different. See pic.
On the back are about 25 tiny glowing testimonials by various companies up and down the land.
Comes in the original card envelope Michelin sent it in, with the legend 'A Free Gramophone Record', printed on, and addressed to a Mr Smith of Doncaster. It's postmarked 1958.
The envelope itself bears the same image of Bibendum which appears on the record sleeve.
The second one is a little less ornate-a flat card with the record emnbedded in it, which thankfully has remained untouched. Again Bibendum is front and centre.
This one bears the title 'IN A TRANSPORT CAFE'.
Again the back of the card has a lovely graphic telling you precisely why Michelin 'X' tyres are so great.
All together a lovely little bit of Collectors' Automobilia
Many thanks for looking
