This auction is for the following rare LP:

MEGA RARE mid 1950s UK 12" LP on HMV by IDA HAENDEL.

UK HMV FIRST PRESSING, HMV CLP 1032.  BRAHMS: VIOLIN CONCERTO IN D MAJOR, OP.77 - IDA HAENDEL and the LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA - Conducted by SERGIU CELIBIDACHE.

Anyone looking at this listing knows how rare this is...but I will allow the bidders to decide it's true value here.

THE RECORD - EXCELLENT VISUAL SHAPE.  ONLY REALLY DISPLAYING SIGNS OF A FEW PLAYS AND SOME DUST ETC THAT COULD BE CLEANED OFF.  I WOULD THINK A SPECIALIST CLEANING MACHINE WOULD BRING AN ALREADY SUPERB LOOKING AND BEAUTIFUL SOUNDING LP TO AN EVEN BETTER STANDARD - OR ANY OTHER CLEANING METHOD YOU PREFER - THAT IS WHY I HAVE NOT CLEANED IT AS WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN METHODS.  THE DISC PLAYS WITH GREAT CLARITY AND I HEARD NO CLICKS AND CERTAINLY NO JUMPS OR STICKS OR REPEAT GROOVES - ONLY THE LIGHTEST OF SUPERFICIAL SURFACE NOISE, THAT MAY BE DUE IN PART OR IN WHOLE TO NEEDING A LIGHT CLEAN.

LABELS - VERY NICE WITH BARELY ANY SIGNS OF USE.  NO WRITING, STICKERS ETC OR OTHER DEFECTS OF ANY KIND AT ALL.

INNER SLEEVE - ORIGINAL 1950s HMV POLYLINED INNER SLEEVE WITH RECORD CARE INFORMATION ON IT.  IN ALMOST NEW CONDITION. NO WEAR, MARKS, DEFECTS OR SPLITS. STILL WHITE AND FRESH.

COVER - ABOVE EXCELLENT ON THE FRONT AND AROUND EXCELLENT ON THE BACK - ONLY ISSUE IS A NAME WRITTEN IN RED BIRO ALONG BOTTOM LEFT OPENING EDGE AREA.  IT LOOKS VERY FADED AND MAY HAVE BEEN CLEANED OFF IN PART, SO ISN'T AS NOTICEABLE AS NORMAL BIRO WRITING.  IT IS ALSO ON LAMINATE SO IT COULD POSSIBLY BE ENTIRELY REMOVED BY AN EXPERT.  THE COVER ONLY HAS THE MILDEST OF CREASES FROM VERY CAREFUL HANDLING...BUT THESE COULD HAVE BEEN DONE THE DAY IT WAS MADE. IT REALLY IS A VERY NICE COVER. NO LAMINATE LIFTING THAT I CAN SEE, NO MEDIUM OR LARGE CREASES, NO MISSING LAMINATE AND NO YELLOWING AT ALL. REALLY SUPERB THROUGHOUT. A SHAME ALL 50s LPs DON'T TURN UP LIKE THIS TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH!

So, there it is - NOT MINT but very very close...and a super rare item.

I think my minimum bid is fair in comparison to other copies I have seen on ebay and elsewhere in the last few years (not that there have been many).
