Description

This auction is for an important part of Jazz history.  This LP is the Original 1951 release on Intro records... Modern Art, Art Pepper Quartet. This LP came from the estate of a local Jazz Saxophone players collection.  He played it often I am sure, but seems to have taken very good care of it.
I have come to figure out that this is an Extremely Rare Album, original first print, 1951 Intro Records, inc. recorded at 5352 W. Pico Blvd. Los Angeles 19, California.   Intro ILP-606 Full Fideli-Sound
I am not a record seller, record grader etc... so I am just going to tell it like it is.  First of all I have taken 20 photos of the LP, the cover and I have tried to photograph the imperfections of this 72 year old album. I also recorded a short 20 second video to Youtube, on July 3rd, which can be seen here... https://youtube.com/shorts/bTVe7poqT10 The video shows how nice and flat the LP spins on the turn table
Here's the info I have.  I listened to the whole album and what a fantastic album it is.

  • on song 1, side 1 "Blues In"... there is a little album noise and a few pops... and 1 minuscule skip hop, I almost missed it.
  • on song 2, side 2 "Stompin' at the Savoy"... there are 3 little pops.
  • All the other songs play clear with hardly any noise, now again, I am not a pro at this, just telling it like it is.  I may have missed a pop on another song, but I do not think so...don't get mad at me if you find a pop I did not disclose.
  • The cover is exceptional for 72 years, in my opinion...please study ALL the photos to further enhance my description. No splits or repairs and very little wear.
  • I took pics of the leading bottom corner, where it was slid in and out of its storage, tiny bit of wear. the top corner at opening also has a bit of wear.
  • The spline of the jacket, has some age wear, but not too bad, you be the judge, I have provided ample photos for your consideration.
  • From what I see, this jacket, cover is in extremely nice condition, hardly any wear or fading...with only a teeny tiny stain above the i, in intro label, on front cover... and no note writing...still very glossy.
I know this is not a standard description, but I am not a pro...AND this is worthy of every word I can say to describe it.  I urge you to ask any questions before you bid I will be double boxing this album with FREE shipping & insure for it's full final value
Having said all this, I want you to know that I will not be accepting ANY returns... You will have to trust me and look at our feedback for the last 30 years. I am worried that I might get a con bid on this LP with bad intentions, therefore,  BIDDERS MUST HAVE AT LEAST 20 FEEDBACK, Or prior permission from me to bid. I will not put up with Illegitimate collectors, only true collectors like yourselves.
