One of a nice treasure trove of Classical rarities we have just had in, a single reviewers collection and many unplayed lps.
1952 Decca 1st Press LXT 2566 (in true mono from before the stereo era) of Ossy Renardy in the Brahms Violin Concerto with Munch conducting the Concertgebouw. A very lovely reading of the Brahms, I like this more than the Martzy, which obviously goes for ten times the price, yet I doubt it is ten times rarer, and Renardy is an exceptional soloist, in his element here.
Near mint record in an excellent sleeve, no splits dirt or pen. With my ortofon mono, I got near mint sound, not totally silent background, but I have heard literally thousands of LXT's, and this is as good as any, and they are amongst the best of the mono era, worldwide.
