1954 1st UK Esquire 1954 1st UK Esquire Sonny Rollins Quintet with Art Blakey & Percy HEATH Excellent Vinyl in a VG minus to good plus sleeve with chips to the bottom end of opening as seen clearly in the pics (making me list this at half its near mint value)- incidentally, as a former jazz promoter, I must say Art & Max were the greatest I ever saw, and I saw all the big boys, including Art. The wonderful Percy HEATH in the bass chair, to this delightful album, recorded by RVG by the look of things, as the US is on Riverside and the location is Hackensack, NJ. Sleeve Grades lower than my other 50s albums listed, but plays through without skips and the fidelity is better than I expected for the early 50s, and the sound is better than the few fine scuffs made it appear it would be, greatly aided by the use of a mono cart.
