1954 Hans HOTTER Gerald MOORE Schubert Winterreise Columbia Gold lettered labels 33CX 1222-3 ED1. Hotter made four recordings of this pinnacle of art song, and this one is usually regarded as his best. Evidence of this is it coming out in the 80s as a Great Recording of the Century Cd set. Here though, is the two lp set with deep grooved labels and curved cut flip back sleeves. I got excellent sound on my modern Ortofon mono cart. I have several of the Fischer Dieskau's as well, but over time I think this less coloured account is probably by now my favourite.
