Description
March 1956, RCA Victor release (LPM 1254) of Elvis Presley’s self-titled, debut 12-inch, LP record album. Early, and possibly first release. Indianapolis pressing. Track 6 on Side 1, “Just Because”, has “P.D.” (Public Domain) after it on the record's label rather than the names of songwriters. Later pressings would have the writers’ names. Side 1 runout: G2-PP1282-3S; Side 2 runout: G2-PP1283-1S. A couple “pops” can be heard at the beginning of Side 1, just prior to the start of “Blue Suede Shoes”. After that, the record plays cleanly without skipping or sticking (both sides). There are visible, light surface scratches on the vinyl, but play doesn't seem to be affected. Album cover does have signs of wear, and old, tape repairs to splits on top and bottom. Extraneous writing can be seen at the top right on front, and top right on back (shown in photos). Generic paper inner sleeve. Please see photos.
