Description

SOLID ROCK/BEYOND THE BLUES by Jimmie John and the Rockin Rangers ZZ-2392 On original black label with silver print and with matrix numbers stamped on both sides. I found this in a 1950s juke box distributors accumulation. The record is in beautiful condition having been played very few times with high gloss and VG++ labels and no heavy scuffs or scratches. The record is perfectly flat with no warping or waviness. I played both sides and both play with no skips and very clear with almost no crackling or static. "Solid Rock" is fast with a vocal backup that blends with Jimmie John's powerful voice. The beginning lyrics are "I took my country gal into town, and thought I'd show her all around, we went to dance here and there, we went to dance but it was so square, knees a knockin and elbows lockin, Well I'll tell you buddy, I just can't get this solid rock". The other side "Beyond the Blues" is a nice country song. ALSO, in very faint dark ink on one label is "From Jim" so it appears to be autographed. You have to look hard at picture 3 to see the autograph. I'm guessing the age is about 1954-1957. Will be shipped USPS first class in a padded box.
