Description

One of a handful of early Music & Violin rarities we have just had in, see our me page for more.

1956 Philips Fac  Sample label 1st press of Hubert Barwahser in Mozart Flute ctos K313 & k314. At this time he was the principal flute of the Concertgebouw, and has a beautiful tone, captured in a very well balanced late mono recording here for the Mozart Jubilee edition of 1956  (1756 to 1956). John Pritchard conducts the VSO.

The record and labels are  near mint (a tiny mark to side 2 only), and the sleeve is Near mint with a little loosening to the bottom flip but no damage. I playgraded this with an Ortofon mono cart through valves and it played excellent ( I could hear the soloists intake of breath to early side 2), sounding like the vinyl had not had many plays, confirmed by how few spindle trails it has. The performances are outstanding.
