"They Sing They Swing" By The Del Vikings. Mercury # 20314, in Mono, Original 1st issue, 1957. This original and very rare 1st issue LP is near mint, almost looks unplayed, in replacement liner, and includes the following cuts - Side A - Come Along With Me, Summertime, Yours, Heart And Soul, A Sunday Kind Of Love, Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Side B - Is It Any Wonder, My Foolish Heart, The White Cliffs Of Dover, Down In Bermuda, I'm Sitting On Top Of The World, Now Is The Hour. The Del Vikings were one of the first rhythm and blues groups to take elements of rock and roll and introduce it to the musical format of doo-wop. They successfully blended the rock and roll sound into doo-wop without destroying the rhythm and blues sould of doo-wop. This is why they are considered to be real ground breakers in the world of group harmony. It probably also explains their wide-ranging appeal both in the original days of doo-wop and now. Album jacket is very good plus with front panel in super condition - glossy and clean, and just very very slight rubbing on back panel, very slight corner & edge wear, plus some slight discoloration on title edge (see images).
