1957 ED1 PHILIPS ABL 3054 STRAVINSKY CONDUCTS JEAN COCTEAU OEDIPUS REX. Great cast and obviously definitive. Near Mint all round. Great back story to this and the related 50s Philips Lps I have listed. I was introduced to a very old lady quite a while back who I was told was moving house and wanted to sell her husbands record collection. There were a couple of surprises when I got there, first they were all in individual brown paper bags, protecting the outer sleeves. Secondly, they were all 50s Philips lps both 10 and 12 inch sized. I mentioned that I was surprised that he collected only Philips, and she said, no, he worked at Philips as a chemist, and these were samples of his finished product. Chemist? I asked, and she said, yes, he developed the polymer for the minigroove era lps. I am only sorry I do not remember her name so I could have added who he was. Anyway, these are all in lovely condition, and I am finally going to sell them after enjoying them myself on several mono carts as I have far too many records. We pack carefully in custom made hard card boxes. If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water.
This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
