Description
Elvis Presley - 'The Best of Elvis' on HMV DLP 1159
The vinyl is in VG+ condition.
There are no skips or jumps when playing either side of the vinyl and there is a very good sheen to the gloss of both sides. There are some light marks on both sides and also a few light scratches. Side 2 has a light scratch of about 50mm but does not interfere with the playing of the record.
I have played both sides of the vinyl and I could determine three pops on side 1 and six on side 2. There are a few light crackles on side 1, but track 3 (Blue Moon) has quite a few discernible crackles intruding into the soft vocals. Side 2 of the vinyl also has a few (I detected ten) light crackles, but track 5 (Playing for Keeps) has quite a few more.
The matrix suffixes are OXAV 289-IN and OXAV 290-IN
Labels:
The labels are in near mint condition with no markings on either side and no deterioration of the maroon and gold writing.
Cover:
The front cover is in VG condition. There has been a rip in the bottom right hand corner edge along the spine which has been repaired with some sellotape to stop it coming further apart. The sellotape repair is 58mm long and extends over on to the rear of the cover (as shown in photo). The laminate on the front cover is starting to lift right at the edge of the record opening side of the sleeve and there is one section here (10mm x 15mm) that has lifted completely. There are about six (very) light creases down the left hand edge and one on the right hand side. There are three very small areas (no bigger than 6mm x 3mm) where the laminate is starting to bubble also.
The rear of the cover is in VG+ condition with corresponding light crease marks (as per the front) and three small areas where the laminate is starting to bubble. The right hand flap has lifted about 15mm (see photo), but other than this the rear is in a very good clean condition.
