Description
I just bought a complete collection of oddities and rarities from a relative of someone who worked at Abbey Road & for EMI decades ago, all of which are new old stock that never got played. I did'nt get everything I wanted, but as you can see if you look at our store list, I did get a fair few exciting HMV/EMI/Abbey Road related recordings that are very worth having.
1957 Reel to Reel Stereo US Capitol Intro to Stereo Tape ZA-1. As the catalogue number suggests, this is the first ever issue of a stereo reel to reel tape by Capitol, and the reel labels reveal this was made by the Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Co, better known these days as 3M !. The wind looks perfectly neat, so it appears the tape is undamaged.
Box is a bit scruffy but the tape looks clean and dry, with minimal wear to the lead in tape, which is not the clear type, but the end is square and looks right. The reel is the original Capitol clear one with big gold tracklist labels to each side.
When we post this to you, it will be packed in a hard card corrugated box.
