NOTES: I believe I have undergraded this one considerably, as regards its condition; the bottom seam of the front cover is split about 4 inches on the lower right-front corner, plus there is the usual age-related shelfwear along the seams; the record has one or two very light paperscuffs on either side that do not affect play. Unbelievably, this classic narrowly escaped a one-way journey to the fire barrel after it's longtime owner recently passed away. His young descendents, who don't like music, were planning to incinerate the bulk of their grandpa's book and record collection on the fourth of July, between trips to the keg. They'd already dispatched with his 8-track collection on Memorial Day in this brutal manner! So I bargained for the futures of these longplayers, and flashed a bit of green, and finally came waddling home with a generous armload of great old records. This week I begin offering them to deserving collectors around the world by way of eBay. The record pictured below is the original black label release by the legendary West Coasters with Phil Urso, Carl Perkins, Curtis Counce, and Lawrence Marable, and features exquisite musicianship that must be heard to believe! I don't give refunds for vague differences of opinion on grading, especially in the case of visual grading; in my book, it's how the record sounds that is critical. I playgrade when I can and whenever a visual concern presents itself. However, I do offer refunds if I have made an obvious blunder in my grading; in that rare event I can authorize a full refund minus actual original shipping and return postage.
- I package professionally with mailers, boxes and padding fit for each item. You may request postal insurance against loss and damage at the actual rate charged by the Post Office. I am not responsible for your package once I have mailed it whether you have insured it or not.

My grading scale combines that of Goldmine™ with the 10-point system:
Mint
(M, or 10) Jacket and record are positively new, no flaws whatsover, absolutely perfect regardless of age. Near Mint
(NM, or 9) Jacket and record are nearly new, no obvious signs of wear, basically as above but opened and played a few times. Very Good Plus
(VG+, or 8) (Also known as "Excellent.") Jacket and record will show very light signs of use, but otherwise handled with respect. The original owner may have neatly written his or her name on the jacket and/or label(s). Any record displaying a manufacturer's defect that does not affect play (i.e. a tiny surface bubble or slight warp) cannot be graded any higher than VG+, even if otherwise flawless. Also, any jacket with a sawmark, cut corner, bb hole, etc. cannot grade higher than VG+. Very Good
(VG, or 7) In the neighborhood of VG+, except defects are more pronounced, both visually and during play, the bright gloss notwithstanding. There can be light scuffs and/or superficial scratches on a VG disc. Jacket may have a couple 1- or 2-inch seamsplits. Good Plus
(G+, or 6) Record must play through without skipping, but will show even more wear and less gloss. Jacket may have up to one seam split entirely. Good
(G, or 5) Record still must play without skipping, but it's obvious the record has seen better days. Jacket will have pronounced corner creases, splits, ringwear, tape repairs, etc. Also, any disc with a hairline crack that still holds together tightly and allows for play cannot be graded any higher than Good. Good Minus
(G-, or 4) As above but perhaps a particularly bad looking scratch will downgrade it thusly. Or a slight warp. Or a chip on the disc's edge. Or excessive writing or stickers on the labels or jacket. You get the idea. Also, the jacket's top and bottom seams may be completely split. Fair
(3) Record and jacket show both neglect and abuse. Record skips and repeats in small sections due to the myriad scratches, not scuffs, SCRATCHES. Gross lack of gloss. Jacket is completely apart in two separate halves or missing entire sections. Poor
(2, 1) A Poor record is everything that a Fair record claims to be, except the jacket is probably missing and it's likely no one cares. Worthless
(0) The exact opposite of "priceless."
