One of the rarest of the rare of the Lounge/Exotica genre, here's LES BAXTER'S "SPACE ESCAPADE" from 1958! This is the original Stereo pressing (there was also a Mono pressing that came before it)
Before he wrote the smash hit "Quiet Village" and became one of the Kings of Exotica, Les Baxter cut this Space-Lounge pop gem for Capitol Records. Lush string arrangements coexist peacefully alongside swingin' space sounds, creating a feeling akin to Les' later film score work.
"Space Escapade" is not easy to come by - and how could anyone leave that far-out cover behind in the record racks?
This example is in good condition - the vinyl has some surface scratches and wear, but the record plays well with some surface noise. The jacket also has wear, with some small tears near the bottom of the front of the jacket, some tearing and a seam split along the top spine, and some light tears and scuffs on the reverse. It also looks like someone has taped part of the top seam back together.
This also comes with the original inner sleeve, which is also split; I've included a separate inner sleeve for storing the record, and will be sure to ship without the record in the jacket to ensure no further damage to the jacket.
