Recently found in a collection in suburban St Paul.
1959 Minnesota Doo-wop ORIGINAL VALQUINS Falling Star My Dear Gaity gold wax 45
VERY GOOD condition.
Extremely Rare 45 by The Velquins, (the group's name was misprinted on the Gaity record label as the Valquins) songs feature "Falling Star" and "My Dear". According to The Money Record, first Edition, this record ranks 199 out of 1000 most valuable records. Also according to Jerry Osborne there are "five known copies in gold vinyl". This group was brought to Gaity to record in 1959. Only a few hundred copies of the disc were released on black vinyl and about five hundred copies were issued on gold wax as part of promotion for Gimble’s (not the national chain) store.
This is not a bootleg. The label is 3 colored; black, orange and white. Dead wax reads GA161 2 (small) GA162 2 (small). 6-22-59. There is one needle scratch on the Falling Star side but the record plays through great. Again, this record is extremely rare, you would be lucky if you could find another copy of this record. The record is VG, plays well.
