Description

One of a handful of early stereo rarities we have just had in, see our me page for more.

1959 UK RCA SB 2037 Stravinsky Petrouchka & Firebird Suites from Monteux & the PCO. Decca pressed from the golden age of SXL's with 1K1K 1st silver spot & pancake grooved labels.

This 1st pressing dates from the album's release in 1959, attested by the printers March 59 sleeve date. Earliest red stereophonic text to rear of the flipback sleeve.  The record is excellent, with a few non feelable marks, generally outstanding sonics to this delight of an lp. The original company pink lettered stereophonic inner is present, and I have added an antistatic inner to it to further protect this clean original issue.

There are no splits, creases, pen or dirt to the sleeve, and the labels are also clean (with spindle marks), the record is flat. The playgrade is excellent using a high quality moving coil cartridge through a high end stereo system. A great and thrilling account of these dramatic  works, considered definitive.

When we post this to you, it will be housed in a new poly outer - we also pack in hard card custom made new boxes.
