The STARR'S on PHANTOM Records

Side A (CR-2-A) AINT GOT NO HOME

Side B (CR-2-B) CRYING OVER YOU

Vinyl and Label are VG+

This is a mysterious 45 whose history is very rare and shrouded. Not a lot is known about this group and musical historians are only guessing as to who the Starr's really are.

The songs are both a couple of R&B shouters with a New Orleans feel. The record itself was pressed out of the Monarch Plant in L.A. California in December of 1960.  Crying Over You is an Ike Turner tune but as far as his connection to the Starr's goes, it's anybodys guess. Was this was an early version of the Ike Turner revue?

Either way, this is actually a killer record and a must have for the rarity collector. I'm sorry for the high starting bid but it may be less than I paid for it. I need to thin my collection as I am now retired and am beginning to choose favorites.

I sight grade only with brief listening (30 seconds or so). Very rarely do I listen to a complete record. This particular single was listened to in its entirety on both sides. Very light noticeable noise. No pops or hiss. No visible warping. A fairly clean play throughout. 

MY GRADING

 NM- VINYL MAY SHOW ONE OR TWO LIGHT SCUFFS, LABEL IS CLEAN W/ LIGHT WEAR. SLEEVE: CLEAN W/LIGHT WEAR. THIS IS THE BEST GRADE I GIVE. I HAVE SOLD ALMOST NEW RECORDS AT THIS GRADE.

VG+  VINYL SHOWS SIGNS OF BEING PLAYED, LIGHT SCUFFS, AND LIGHT SURFACE SCRATCHES (SPIDER WEBS). LABEL HAS LIGHT WEAR W/POSSIBLE STICKERS, TAPE OR WRITING (WILL BE NOTED) SLEEVE: LIGHT RING WEAR, BENT OR CUT CORNERS, W/POSSIBLE STICKERS OR WRITING

VG  VINYL SHOWS SIGNS OF BEING WELL PLAYED BUT STILL IN PLAYTHROUGH CONDITION.  SCUFFS, LIGHT SCRATCHES, AND POSSIBLE   LIGHT SURFACE NOISE & POPS. LABEL MAY HAVE LIGHT WEAR W/STICKERS, OLD TAPE, OR WRITING (WILL BE NOTED)  SLEEVE: SHOWS SIGNS OF WEAR MINOR SEAM SPLITS W/POSSIBLE STICKERS OR WRITING. STILL A GOOD PLAYTHROUGH COPY.
