Description
Our ebay store has many other modern jazz gems like this in it. 1960 UK Esquire ED1 Mal Waldron Trio: Impressions. Modal Jazz Piano LP, with Tootie Heath on Drums and Addison Farmer Bass. Vinyl is pristine Near Mint. What makes this more unusual is that its a killer album, and in the hands of most jazz fans would have been played to death. Half of it is a suite composed by Waldron when on tour around Europe as Billie Holliday's pianist in 1958 which he called the Overseas Suite. What then also makes this something special is it is from the Prestige original metalwork, with RVG in the deadwax. So what you say, well the so what is that Esquires are English Decca pressings on virgin vinyl, just like golden age SXl 2000's. Prestige at this time issued their US originals on recycled vinyl, so there was always a chance your stylus ran in to bits of label somewhere along the groove. Unmarked near mint 66 year old record super clean labels playing near mint on a high end system with my ortofon mono cart in an excellent sleeve. Under 70 quid is a great price for such a clean example when you note that the VG+ of it with no outer sleeve is listed on here by a big seller at £46.
