Description
Early Stereo Week here at 33anda3rd!. Lots of 60's stereo in this list accompanying this lp, plus unusual repertoire and limited pressings. Apologies to thise watching this in Ebay US, I was unable to feature it and it seemed wrth doing so after a serious playgrading session.
1960 First year pressing of Uk Decca SXL 2214 Backhaus Mozart 27&11 Piano 1D2D. Wilhelm Backhaus in the Mozart 27th & 11th Piano Concerti with the VPO & Bohm. Curved cut flipback sleeve with the ffss arm ad to it, made by British Celanese. Labels have Original recording by.. at ten O clock, are deep grooved with an ffss circle at 12 O clock. Knowing this was a potentially valuable lp, I gave it a very light clean with neat ethyl alcohol, and listened to it throughout at over ordinary listening levels. There is one fine 4mm mark to the start of S2 to this, so playgrade revealed very soft tics from it on a moving coil, hence the low start on an lp that has gone here on ebay previously for $646. No other marks or playback issues - just a fine listening experience to one of the greatest Mozart Concerto recordings ever made.
Original ffss inner present and very clean like the sleeve and lp. Very low desirable 1D2D stampers.
This record is visually top Mint minus with a 4mm fine straight mark which tics very background to some rotations to start side 2, in a Mint minus sleeve, record is not warped, labels are clean.
Good selection of rarities in my list this week..
