Description
This is from a top of the market collection, comprising of just early stereo rarities on Decca HMV, UK Columbia & RCA. First labels issues in Near Mint condition to 99% of them, all described in detail with plenty of pictures. Includes many items rarely seen on ebay.
First type pressing of Uk Decca SXL 2189 Britten Nocturne, Four Sea Interludes and Passacaglia from Peter Grimes, with Tenor soloist Peter Pears and the composer conducting the LSO. The first work is listed in the big letters to the cover, but I love the definitive account of the four sea interludes here, my favourite work by Britten.
Labels are ED1 with original recording by.. at ten o clock, with the wide silver band and ffss circle at 12 O' clock. Low 4E2E stampers to this. Flipback sleeve is the Robert Stace printing, and the original company ffss inner is present. This is near mint & on my moving coil played without faults, has clean labels and the sleeve is Near Mint, just a small pen number on the bottom flip.
