Description
This is an original 1960's EmArcy EP 1-6059 and rather RARE Picture Sleeve featuring Big Bill Broonzy BLUES. A side is BLUE TAIL FLY and BESSIE SMITH. The B side is LEROY CARR and RICHARD JONES. There are a few light scuffs on the record but nothing that affects play. Much of the original gloss remaining one side, the other has a bit of a sheen over it but again nothing that affect play. The label is ver clean. I would grade the 45 and the label VG+. The sleeve is a hard sleeve and does have some discoloration on the right side (it appears to have gotten wet at some point). There is also 1&1/2" seam split at the top. Even with it's defects the sleeve still displays nicely. I would grade the sleeve Good+ or better (I try to grade conservatively). I'm including a brief description of Grades to help clarify them for the novice collector. NEAR MINT: "A nearly perfect record...should show no obvious signs of wear". VERY GOOD PLUS: "record will show signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect ones listening experience. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. An LP jacket may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole". VERY GOOD: Surface noise will be evident upon playing but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or 45 covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them". GOOD/GOOD PLUS: "A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear. A jacket or sleeve will have seem splits. Tape writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object". S/H is $4.95 Priority w/tracking & includes a new 45 mailer (ins. extra).
