1961 1st Uk pressing 1961 Bobby Timmons with Blue Mitchell, Sam Jones & Art Blakey: Soul Time. Grooved Riverside Mono RLP 334 with the flipback sleeve. Unmarked Mint surfaces and clean labels, this was in a record shop storage for the past forty to fifty years. The owner retired a while back, then after many years told the guy who took over the shop that he had some old stock he could have. I was there the day the boxes were opened, I left with an empty wallet. My list this week is a cherry pick of the best of the jazz, most of it only ever played by me on a good system.
This is a class date, with a great review on amg, sharing the highest rating of four stars that he acheived in the 1950's a time when he made some great records, this as good as any. Lovely big valve sound to this. Outstanding with a mono cart.
pristine Near Mint record and Near Mint playback, excellent sleeve. An exceptional performance.
