Description
Vintage jazz lp: THE BLUES AND THE ABSTRACT TRUTH - BILL EVANS, ROY HODGES, ERIC DOLPHY, OLIVER NELSON, PAUL CHAMBERS and FREDDIE HUBBARD - the original Impulse pressing, Mono A-5, gatefold jacket, deep groove, "RVG" (Rudy Van Gelder) stamped in the deadwax; etched in the deadwax is A5-A and A5-B. Released in 1961. Personnel includes Eric Dolphy, Booker Little, Mal Waldron, Richard Davis, and Eddie Blackwell.
Condition is Good+/Good+ - TEST PLAYED and sounds VG+ (though the vinyl has moderate scuffing and many soft hairlines, a couple of which I can just barely feel, I have just played both sides all the way through and there are no skips, and not only that but it plays overall VG+ with some soft background noise and the occasional soft pop - still an absolutely enjoyable listening experience - I am happily surprised; it also has a very slight warp, which does not affect play; the labels have some minor rubbing and light spindle marks; the jacket cover has some small "air spots" beneath the coating, wrinkle to top corner, small scar at bottom edge, minor corner rubbing, clean spine; gatefold has minor rubbing, small name in ink, small nearly-visible water spot; top seam is split all the way; bottom seam is clean).
