Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. This album is valuable in three ways: first, as a collection of Little Eva's best solo recordings (she was also sang with the Cookies, and they in turn sing on a number of her records) between 1962 and 1965; secondly as a representation of some of the best recordings on the short-lived Dimension "girl group" label which Don Kirshner formed in 1962; and thirdly as a veritable Goffin and King songbook. They were staff writers for the label and their names appear on all of the tracks.
Little Eva was the only artist to have an album released on Dimension. Produced by Gerry Goffin it was called L L L L Loco-Motion and included Loco-Motion... Also added to the Lp is the hit follow-up Keep Your Hands off My Baby. The Lp also sports Little Eva's versions of Goffin and King songs originally given to the Drifters, Ben E King, Bobby Vee and the Shirelles, as well as covers of Breaking Up Is Hard To Do and the Crystals' Uptown (both Brill Building songs). One oddity was the West Side Story number I Have A Love. The album came out in mono and then in ghastly electronically-channeled stereo ... We present to you the original mono release from 1962
Perhaps no babysitter in history got a bigger break than Eva Narcissus Boyd, who baby sat for songwriters Carole King and Gerry Goffin. It was early 1962 when they were inspired by a dance Little Eva was doing around the house and wrote a song called 'The Locomotion'. Originally meant for Dee Dee Sharp, returning home one day Carole and Gerry found their babysitter singing it. They liked what they heard, so they rushed her into the studio, with King doing the backing vocals. Little Eva was only sixteen when 'The Locomotion' hit #1. Her salary as the Goffins' babysitter was $35 dollars a week. Her earnings from 'The Locomotion' were reported to be around thirty thousand dollars. She appeared on television shows and in numerous magazines. She performed live in the U.S. and did several tours of England. Remembered by most as a one hit wonder Little Eva was more than that and his debut album on the DIMENSION label reveals one of the funniest yet talented artists of the "girl groups" era. Also features his second chart smasher 'Keep Your Hands Off My Baby', later covered on stage by the Beatles
