Description

This auction is for what I believe to be Stevie Wonder's first LP, Tribute To Uncle Ray, Tamla Records number 232.  This is the HARD TO FIND 1962 Tamla HOLLYWOOD PRESSING.  According to many Motown enthusiasts, the Hollywood Pressing Plant in California produced superior sound to the other pressing plants Motown used during the 1960s.  Not only is this a Hollywood pressing plant disc but it also has the Stacked, or as some describe it, Vertical Globes Logo.  The early Hollywood Pressings that used the Stacked Logo, for a short time used a yellow background for these labels instead of the typical white background used on other pressings with the stacked globes logo.  The disc is in M- condition and the labels are clean.  The cover is in a nice clean VG++ condition with all seams intact and would be graded higher except for a couple of reasons.  There is some very light rub wear towards the top front graphic in the black background, not very noticeable, but thought it should be mentioned.  On the back cover there is a 1/4" tear on the bottom under neath the "I" in "Hi" Fidelity.  Shipping in the U.S. is $4.95.  If you would like Ins. I will check the rates at the P.O. which go according to your Zip Code.
