You often get the best of the best with these compilation albums... And this one is no different! In addition to Johnny Western, there are eleven A-List western artists including Webb Pierce, the Maddox Brothers & Rose, Wynn Stewart, Patsy Cline, Hank Locklin, Carl Belew, T. Texas Tyler, plus Ferlin Husky and Jimmy Dean... All recorded in the Nashville, Tennessee area.
18 miles Northeast of Nashville lies Hendersonville, where many of the country music stars lived including Roy Orbison, Conway Twitty, members of the Oak Ridge Boys plus Barbara Mandrell, Ricky Skaggs and of course Johnny, June Carter and their son John Carter Cash lived there. So Johnny and John decided to build a recording studio in Hendersonville called 'House Of Cash', and that is where Johnny Western and Johnny Cash became life-long friends... And where this fantastic album was recorded. Young John Carter Cash was the executive producer. Oh, and this album was personally hand-signed by Johnny Western back in 1981!
